Welcome to the National Practice Forum

The National Practice Forum is for practitioners in Scotland whose job entails electronic data sharing within the Education, Health, Housing, Police & Social Work sectors. The forum aims to provide reference on policy & implementation delivered through the Transformational Technologies Division of the Scottish Executive.

Our main aims are to;

  • Provide a mechanism for national consultation / reference on policy as it relates to electronic data sharing;
  • Facilitate neutral reporting based upon professional experience and expertise as opposed to local or agency representation regarding data sharing;
  • Provide an overview of practice implications for new policies and provide where appropriate realistic expectations in relation to data sharing; and,
  • Provide a network for information sharing across Scotland regarding good practice about policy implementation.

We will achieve this through hosting regular Forum meetings held on a 12 week cycle in Aberdeen, Edinburgh & Glasgow and by providing a communication framework and networking opportunities for practitioners to scrutinise policy and implementation issues and in light of this for recommendations to be made.

Use the links on the left hand side of the page to learn more about NPF and forthcoming events throughout Scotland.
